Sweet & Sour - Program Notes

Sweet&Sour was composed for the Cygnus Ensemble in the fall of 2001. The sweet, flowing melody is harmonically flavored with the melodic content of the previous measures in a free canonic manner. All members of the ensemble are equally involved in the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic functionalities of the piece, thus creating a sense of unity and textural variety.
